Awarded annually to a deserving Cameron County High School senior, the scholarship serves as a beacon of hope and opportunity, embodying the ideals Major Clark held dear. Thanks to the support from various sources, including Seneca Resources, the Clark Family Christmas Tree farm, and generous private and family donations, this scholarship not only honors Major Thomas E. Clark’s memory but also invests in the future of a promising young individual, ensuring that his spirit of dedication and resilience continues to inspire generations to come.

What are the application requirements?
Need to be senior at Cameron County High School and provided with submission of application:
- One letter of recommendation from a CCHS teacher.
- One letter of recommendation from CCHS school administrator or community leader (church, service club, boy/girl scouts).
- Recent transcript from the Guidance Office.
- Remarks: A statement of approximately 50 words outlining why you have selected this area/subject as your field of study.

Catherine (Katie) Caldwell was the valedictorian of the Cameron County High School class of 2015. Katie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Penn State University. She was in the Blue Band for one year.

Katie graduated from The Penn State College of Medicine in May 2013 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was additionally presented with the Dean’s Award at graduation.

Dr. Caldwell is currently doing a seven-year residency in neurosurgery at The University of Kentucky in Lexington where she will learn to operate on the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. Following residency, Katie hopes to pursue a fellowship in Functional Neurosurgery, where she will be trained to place electrodes deep within the brain to help control movement disorders like Parkinson’s Disease.

In 2017, Haley graduated from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, with a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS). Upon graduation, she worked as a Business Analyst and Solution Architect for various companies. Currently she works for Ferguson Enterprises in Newport News, VA as an IT Functional Delivery Manager, in the Enterprise Data and Analytics department. In this role my focus is on change control management for data management and analysis.

Attending St. Bonaventure and will complete their degree in Environmental Studies in 3 years instead of 4 yrs. Internships at Sinnemahoning State Park.
